Gmail is a Google owned free email service that allows users to send, receive mails as well as facility of free storage. To access the services of Gmail, you need to have your own Gmail account. The procedure to perform Gmail account sign up is given below.
Steps for Gmail account sign up:
On a computer with access of internet, open one of the internet browsers.
On the search bar enter “www.gmail.com” or www.mail.google.com or and press enter, then in the homepage, click on “Create account” button at the bottom of the page. gmail account sign upOr simply go to “https://accounts.google.com/signup”.
Enter your full name, first and last name, on the respective text box.
Now choose your username for your Gmail account. User name must be easy and simple to remember and is followed by @gmail.com. Alternatively, you can use your current email address as Gmail address. For this click on “I prefer to use my current email address” and on the refreshed page enter your email address.
This step is to create a secure password for your Gmail account sign up. On the Create a password box, select and enter the password you would like to keep for you Gmail account. However a password needs to be at least 8 characters long and a combination of number and alphabets are preferred.
Enter your password again in to confirm your password.
Now select your date of birth, month and year. Also, select your gender.
On the next text box, select your country code and enter your mobile phone number. This is required for account verification as well as account recovery procedure if any.
You need to prove that you are not a robot. This can be done either entering the text in the picture shown or you can click mark on “Skip this verification” to use the previously entered phone number for verification.
Select your Country from the list.
Click mark on “I agree to the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy”. You can read the terms of service and privacy policy of Gmail account sign up, by clicking on “Terms of Service” and “Privacy Policy” respectively.
Click on the “Next step” button at the end of the page. This will take you to the page where you need to verify your account.gmail account sign up
Check the phone number and select how you would like Google to send you codes. Select “Text message (SMS)” or “Voice Call” and click on “Continue” button.
Now enter the verification code and click on “Continue” button, to complete your Gmail account sign up.
